We have migrated from a Windows 2000 SP4 to a Windows 2003 R2 SP2maybe a question for the access newgroup. If you say "no error message" what happens exactly? Maybe the database had been opened in exclusive mode?
Fileserver. The Clients are Windows XP SP2.
Now we have two Problems on the new Server:
1. We have Access DBs were we had no problems when more persons open
the database at the same time, now its only posible that one person
can open the DB file. There is no error message for the other people.
What is the problem here?
2. On many files (e.g. mdb) we get the "Open File - Security Warning"Adding the server to Local Intranet in Internet Explorer security settings should help here. Maybe there is another setting as well, if IE 7 is involved, you may have to try.
Dialog. How can we disable this Warning on the fileshare?
If it is possible to use Group Policies, i would be happy! There are settings for the Internet Options, but be aware, that if you use them all user defined settings may be lost as well.
Best greetings from Germany
Olaf
