It seems we're running round in circles.
In the world of Windows (any version!) you need to
share folders in order to make them accessible to users
who are working on a different machine. If you do not
share them then the folders are not remotely accessible.
It might be a good idea to check the section about "File
and Folder Sharing" in your Windows Server Manual.

With Windows server 2003 and Small Business server 2003 why does a
accesshave to be shared for a particular user to access it? I allow user

folder under security " full access" but that user can't access files
folder. When I share the folder they can access it.
