offline files read-only

When I go into offline files mode, I've noticed that my files (and folders)
no longer allow me to access them. I can see them and attempt to open them
but they are either marked "read-only" or they merely report that I don't
have the rights to open them.

I've setup a group policy to redirect my "my documents" folder to my home
folder on the server, which is setup for offline file access.

Any idea what might be causing this?
