Re: NtFrs Replication Errors for deleted link

Wow, that is a lame message! Anyway, I believe 13562 has to do with missing
objects (as described below). It's possible that you missed something to be
deleted. Waiting for the change to trickle through AD might also cause the
error to cease.
FRS Missing Member and Subscriber Objects
FRS relies on essential containers, objects, and attributes stored in Active
Directory and replicated among domain controllers in a given domain.
Critical objects include FRS member and subscriber objects. Optional
attributes include the Schedule attribute, the FRS-File-Filter attribute,
the FRS-Folder-Filter attribute, and the FRS database location. For more
information about these objects, see article 296183, "Overview of Active
Directory Objects That Are Used by FRS" at

Jill,
Deleting the references cleared the error I was getting, so progress has
been made! However, I am not getting this new error, which purports to
summarize errors received from a domain controller but does not include
any
errors. Any thoughts on this one?
Thanks for all your help.
Joe

We usually recommend ADSIEdit for deleting FRS entries. You would have to
navigate to the entries using the information in the techref, because FRS
entries live in various places in AD. Here's a KB article as well that
will
give you some tips:

Jill,
Thanks for the link. Interesting stuff but there was nothing I could
find
that told me how to modify the AD entries. All the tools listed were
diagnostic or monitoring tools. Do you know if there is a tool or
snap-in
for AD that allows me to edit the ntfrs entries? I don't really want
to
dive
into the registry on my domain controllers!
Thanks,
Joe

There are also entries in AD that will need to be deleted. Go to the
FRS
technical reference at
http://technet2.microsoft.com/WindowsServer/en/library/7636aede-a944-4765-8973-40dc1e1f2d561033.mspx?mfr=true
and scroll down to the section called "Hierarchy of FRS Objects in
Active
Directory for DFS Replica Sets." This will tell you where all the FRS
components live in AD.

I have a Win2k3 server with DFS setup to replicate files between
itself
and
one server. This replication works fine. I had originally setup
replication
with another server but deleted the links and all references to that
server.
I am now receiving errors saying NtFrs can't enable replication to
the
deleted server. I have scrubbed the registry of all references to
the
deleted server but the errors continue. Can anyone tell me where to
remove
these troublesome references? The error is below.
Thanks,
Joe
