I am trying to load the data from a hard disc in a previous lap top which
has
blown up. I am able to read the Hard disk via an IDE connection but cannot
gain access to my personal folders (photos and alike) Is there a way of
gaining acces to the Hard drive in full.

I had to log in on the previous lap top with a password.

Help Please

You need to tell use ***why*** you cannot get access.
Is it that you cannot find the old files and folder? That
the disk is unreadable? That you don't have sufficient
permissions?

My request is similar to PaulDamo's Only I have copied the files to my new computer via a back up program from a USB hard drive to a directory names "HPXT412" Now I have no need of the files I find there is one directory "My journal" in the documents and settings/owner/my documents, folder. I may or may not have files in the folder, can't open to tell. It was a password protected folder in the old computer. I have tried deleting it even using the command window with no success. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
