Hi,

computer management -> shared folders -> open files

this will not help, if the file is accessed locally on that machine.

How do I determine what programs are accessing a file on a Windows
2000 machine? I have one machine on my network that will not allow
me to backup an
Outlook 2003 .pst file because the file is open by another program?
For this you can try the Freeware tool filemon.exe from www.sysinternals.com.
