Deleted file; orphan icon left behind

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

I deleted a text file in XP(SP2) but found the icon was still showing. All
attempts to delete that fail, because I'm apparently trying to delete a file
that doesn't exist. I've tried using MoveOnBoot and HijackThis to delete on
reboot, and I've tried deleting the file in Safe Mode.

I'm using a very new ultraportable, the HP NC4000, and I haven't got a CD
player for it yet.
