I only have 2 win98 clients that need to access two shared
folders. Currently the shares are working with the NT
Server but they'd like the shares to run from the win2k3
server on the network. I setup two shares under a folder
called "Shared Folders" that isn't shared and I haven't
messed with the permissions on it. (using filesvr.msc)

I added the usernames w/ the right passwords to users and
groups because this is a workgroup level setup. I
disconnected the current drive mappings on the win98
clients and mapped to the WIN2K3 server shares using the
same drive letters and share names that were previously
used.

NTFS and Share level permissions are as follows

NTFS - Default plus Users group = Read & Execute / Read /
Write
Share - Administrators / Everyone / Users - Full Control
I copied all the folders and data to the new server.

The users can view the files and when you try to make
changes to the excel documents it says "Your changes could
not be saved to , but were saved to a temporary document
named DFAD0E30. Close the existing document, then open the
temporary document and save it under a new name"(The
DFAD0E30 value varies.)

When you try to make changes to a word doc it says "Check
the drive to make sure the door is closed and it contains
the correct disk or CD."
