Sometimes profile corruption will cause that. Rename both the server copy
and the local copy of your profile and build a new one. See if that doesn't
take care of it. An administrator will have to do it, as you can't if you
are logged on with your own profile.

I have a roaming profile setup on the LAN. When I take the laptop home and.
logon to the laptop it sits at the logon screen thinking for about a minute
after entering my password then I get an error
"Windows cannot locate the server copy of your roaming profile and is
attempting to log you on with your local profile. blah blah blah....."
Even if I disable the NIC and the wireless and reboot I still get the error.
