Hi,
OS - WinXP Pro SP2
My host computer is connected to a router (Trendnet TEW-432BRP).
I can ping my host computer's IP address.
From my router, I've already enabled Remote management port 8080 from any IP
address (*).
In my Windows firewall settings, I've already added port 8080 to the
Exceptions and Advanced tab lists.
When I type in http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8080 , in a browser in my remote computer, I get a dialog box.
This box shows my host name correctly and asks for my username and password.
I typed in my username and password (I only have one user account in my host
computer) and hit Enter but the box just keeps refreshing. And then, after 3 attempts, I
get an Unauthorized message in the browser.
My username and password were typed in correctly, no misspellings. What am I doing wrong and what else should I be tweaking to make remote desktop connection work behind a router?

If your trying to use the web based Remote Desktop method you need TCP Port 80 (IIS) and TCP Port 3389 (Remote Desktop) forwarded through the router to the host PC. Did you open TCP Port 3389? Did you change the IIS listening port to TCP Port 8080?
