Hi, I have been trying to access my Desktop in the office Remotely from my
laptop and I keep getting an error message - The client could not establish a
connection to the remote computer.

The most likely causes for this error are:
Remote Connections might not be enabled at the remote computer
The maximum number of connections was exceeded at the remote computer.
A network error occurred while establishing the connection.

I went to the registry and performed the following steps:

Click on Start > Run.

Type REGEDIT and press Enter.

Navigate to the following:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\TermService \Parameters

Delete the KEY named ?Certificate?.

Close the registry editor.

Restart the computer.

This did not help

Hope that someone can help me find a work around.

Thanks,

Is this what your seeing?

Are you running XP Pro SP2 fully patched?

What version of the Remote Desktop client are you using? Open the Remote Desktop connectoid and click on the small terminal icon at the upper left. Select "About"...

Do you have TCP Port 3389 forwarded/opened in any firewall/router the work PC is behind?

Are you calling the correct public IP of the work PC or firewall/router the work PC is behind?
