I Solved it with Microsofts help!!!! I saw this knowledge base article but I
thought it related to older versions of rdp. Once I enabled it on the client
pc, everything worked

I relogged into the host and all my printers, including the laserjet 3055,
were available. It takes about a minute after you login to have the pc
resolve all the ports. Just to reiterate, I was logging into an xp pro (sp2)
with an xp pro (sp2) computer.
