Re: Printing "Stalls" in RD

Can you check if these 4 copies of the redirected printers are attached to "Inactive TS Ports" on the session?
To check:
On the session, open Control Panel -> Printers -> "Dell AI0 946 [From Companion] (copy 1)"
Right Click the printer name and select Properties
Go to the "Ports" tab and check the port name to which this redirected printer is connected.

Are there any event viewer messages on the session and on the client ?

Then, logoff all sessions connected to the server from this client, manually delete the printer connected to the inactive ports, if required.
Then, along with restarting the spooler server (net stop spooler and net start spooler), also restart the "umrdpservice". (net stop umrdpservice and net start umrdpservice) on the SERVER.

Then, try a new connection from the client.

Also, what is your client and server OS ?

1 MB file size should still be fine for the TS redirected printer.
But yes, more number of users and larger file sizes, more will be the CPU
usage.

I thought I'd update on this problem. The printer worked for a short time;
now we have the same problem, just manifesting a bit differently.

The whole situation:

We use Remote Desktop to connect 2 offices for database sharing purposes.
The printer attached to the local computer is behaving oddly over the
connection. We started out with the printer showing up in the "printers and
faxes" window on the server. When we print, the job shows as printing,
but never actually prints. We cannot delete this job. We tried logging
off and logging back in. The printer and stuck job were still there, but we
then had an additional printer labeled "Dell AI0 946 [From Companion] (copy
1)".

Repeat several times, and now we have 4 copies of the same printer, none of
which will print. We cannot delete either the stuck jobs or the printers
themselves. Net stop/start spooler command has no effect.

I'm assuming this is a problem with either the local printer or computer,
since I can RD in to the server from my home laptop and print to my home
computer with no problems.

How can I troubleshoot why the printer does not print, and how can I remove
the "dead" copies of the printers?
