NYCNC,
I think what Shenan is trying to get to is:
The SurfBoard modem you got from the cable company is connecting you to
the internet. It has probably been configured to provide one additional
Public IP address which is now assigned to your router.
Your LinkSys router in turn is acting as the DHCP server and
distributing Private IP address to your wireless print server and two
computers.
In order for you to connect remotely, you're going to need to find out
what Public IP address has been assigned to the LinkSys router. I
believe Shenan gave you the page numbers in the manual for navigating
to the correct page.
Once you have that IP address, try connecting to from your home. It
sounds as it everything else has been configured.
