Re: Port closed?

I have Windows XP pro on my desktop at work and my lap top at home. I
recently moved office space (thus moving my destop). I can't access my
desktop remotely anymore. I think my port 3389 is closed but my ISP said the
port is open and no firewalls are on. I don't know if he knows what he is
talking about. I can't telnet my port 3389. Does this mean the port is
closed?

I double checked all my configurations but get a "clinet could not connect
to the remote computer." This coupled with that fact I can't telnet the port
leads me to think my port may be blocked. Am I correct assuming this?

Is TCP Port 3389 open at the office end on any firewalls between your work desktop and the public internet? Contact your network admins about that. Also since your desktop PC moved did its LAN IP also change? That would cause any port forwarding scheme in the work firewalls to break...
