Ok, I am in business!!!! I had upgraded my Norton Anti-virus a couple
of weeks ago. I had the worm protection and spyware protection turned
on.
When I turned both of them off, I was able to connect. I then turned
them back on and lost my connection. Turned them both back off, so I
know
that is why I kept getting the 800 error.

What I can suggest is you must be able to telnet port 1723. If not, you need to double-check the configuration and make sure the port 1723 forward to the VPN server.

Bob,

I have checked, checked and rechecked the configuration, at least
everything I know to check. No, can not ping the VPN server.
I asked about that and it is because there is a firewall thus not
pingable(if that is a word).
