I have two PCs running XP Pro and I have setup RDP between them
(its easier than running up and down stairs).
Whenever I launch a remote session I get told that there is a
local session that needs to be disconnected first.
Is there anyway I can leave the local session connected and still
logon remotely from the other PC.

Without hacking? Only one..
Log in as the user who is currently logged into the computer.

What type of hack would we be talking about.
So long as it doesn't violate the licence I could give it a go.
Thanks
BTW - I tried logging on as the existing user but it said there was
an account restriction preventing it.
The user is the an administrator account (and my prime id) without a
password so the PC will go into windows automatically on boot, but
I went and added the account to the remote desktop users group
anyway but the restriction is still there.
Oh, and thanks for responding so quickly to my initial query.
You have to give it a password to use with Remote Desktop...
and you could still set it up to automtically logon with no problem.
The hack is can be found on the web - it essentially concerns replacing a
dll with a beta SP2 one that allowed multiple users to use Remote Desktop
without affecting the other users directly.
However - I do not recommend doing it - it's getting to be quite an old hack
and may be broken by any random MS patch.
You could use something like UltraVNC - so you just remote to the machine
and use the logged on account - and it stays visible on the other end.
