While logged on at the work PC go to the http://www.canyouseeme.org site and
see if the test passes for TCP Port 3389. If it does not you will need to
wait for your network administrator to return to open the port. That site
will also report your public IP address...

Thanks for the response.

I don't know much about connecting computers, but trying hard to learn.
What you suggested is above my head. Is it possible to put it in layman
terms please.
How do I find out if our work computer has a TCP Port 3389?
And how do I "call the work PC using the public IP of the work firewall"

I'm trying to connect to my computer at work via the web.
I have spent quite sometime looking through all the help stuff but
cannot
find how to fix it.
My laptop is useing XP Pro so is my computer at work.
The IT guy at work told me it was all set-up, now he's on vaction.
The process i'm using is:
I open remote desktop connection window.
Then I click on the computer (type in the name of the computer window).
I get browse computer window.
My work network name shows up with a + sign next to it.
I click on it and I get a window opens up saying " The (name of my lan)
domain/workgroup does not contain any terminal servers.
I would be very greatful if anybody has any suggestions that would be
able
to help me connect up.
