What I actually want to do is to be able to access files from this computer
which will be permanently connected to the ADSL connection. I then want to
be able to access the files from more than one laptop, either on the same
network or remotely (hence why I tried to use VPN).

SWAMRU-54108 ADSL modem/router. I can successfully connect to it with my
laptop but I am unable to browse files on the server in the shared folders.
