accessing directory contents through pptp
Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry
Hello,
I have a Linksys router running Sveasoft's Alchemy V3 and PPTP enabled.
This router is connected to my Windows LAN at home. With my Windows XP
laptop I have been able to connect to my home LAN from work, I have been
authenticated and received an IP, I can ping machines on the remote LAN, and
I can even get remote machines to display network shares if I use their IP
address in Windows Explorer address bar, BUT when I double click a remote
share the laptop freezes up. e.g. \\192.168.2.156\Share\prg. I'm a bit at a
loss to figure this out. I
have not forwarded any ports since the router is managing the PPTP. I can
map a drive with net use
and the IP address net use g: \\192.168.2.156\share.
