Connect to a remote computer

Hi I was wondering how exactly to connect to a remote computer. I have a
computer at my office and a computer at my house and would like to do some
work at home rather than going to the office everyday. My computers are both
windows XP Home edition. Can someone please walk me through this? Thanks
