RDC Printing Problems "Can't communicate with the Printer"

Running XP Pro on the Host Computer
Running XP Home on the Client Computer
Tring to connect from home (client) to host and automaticaly redirect
printing to USB printer connected to the client.
Printer is Lexmark P3150 (driver 3100 series)
Driver is installed on both host and client.
When connecting to the Host the setup for the printer immediately starts
and asks what cartridges are installed and accepts the selections. When the
computer asks to print an test\alignment page the Lexmark software errors and
states "cannot communicate with the printer".
The printer appears in the error msg to be correctly referenced as "Lexmark
3100 Series (from "client") - Direct Network Attached"
Same msg appears when trying to print any file after exiting this setup.
The client's printer appears on the Host Computers printers page on TS001
Port and is checked.
Local Drives on the Client appear as available resources during the session.
Originally thought it was a firewall issue (running Zone alarm on the
client) but disabled it with the same result...
Out of ideas at my end.
Thanks in advance to anyone that has any ideas...
Best regards,
.
