Remote Desktop pauses

I have been using remote desktop for about 9 months. It has worked
flawlessly until the last two weeks. Now, when I log in to my home
computer from remote locations, it pauses. I will be using R.D. just
fine, it will then hang for about 10-30 seconds and then start working
again. I'm using Comcast cable so the bandwidth shouldn't be an
issue.
