What i want to do is this
I have 2 machines 1 running xp pro and another running xp home edition
The computer with home edition i set up listening for an incoming call and set up the users etc
The computer with pro edition i set up to dial the other computer and supply username and password
The pro edition dials the home computer fine and both machines connect and i get the icon bottom right showing connection and ip addys etc.
However i cannot view the hardrive of the computer that was listening from the one that dialed. Is it supposed to appear in network places / computers.
I've checked for things like firewalls and the listening computer is checked to say allow users to view my network. Ive set both machines to use the same workgroup. Hardrive is fully shared and viewable when on a lan. I've checked things like DCHP supplying address etc etc and everything seems ok but obviously something isn't
I don't want to control the machine just to access the hardrive so i can map it so i can access the data remotely.
Any insights and solutions would gratefully appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Steve
