I can use VPN to connect two computers running XPHome connected to the
internet on broadband connections.
However i cannot always access the machines. I type the machine name in the
address bar and usually this times out. But sometimes it works but with no
obvious changes to the machines. Both PCs have Norton Internet Security on
and the IP addresses have been entered into the firewall's 'allow list'.

We are able to connect using remote assistance with no problems, but i need
to be able to share a drive because
one of the reasons that i want to be able to do this is to syncronise an
access database.

Is there a way i can do this using remote assistance?

please help as this is driving me nuts.
Thanks
Dave
