Hey guys - hope there is someone out there who has been experiencing
the same issue we have. (Actually, maybe not ...)
But seriously, we experience random "connectivity" issues - say 20% of
the time - whereby when we remotely connect to a machine, the local
resources are completely unusable. An example would be making the
remote connection, clicking the Start menu on the target machine, and
then wait (get a cup of coffee, call a friend) for the menu to pop up.
Forget about launching an app.
I want to blame rdp, but I am not sure that I can. The reason I think
it is the culprit is because when I am on the lan, I have these
issues. When I am home and connect to the corp network via vpn, I have
these issues. And now, a group of developers we have in Bangaloore who
connect to our network via vpn and then rdp to a set of vm's are also
experiencing these issues (of course, much worse than us state-side).
So since the same issues happens whether we are on the internal lan,
or vpn over varying distances, I'd like to think the one tie that
binds this altogether is rdp. But despite my scouring of every user
group, forum, and technical site, I cannot find a suitable answer for
what we are experiencing.
The easy way out is to use something else (SMS, Proxy32, Dameware are
all possibilities) - I just to make sure it isn't something silly that
we have missed ...
Any help would be great!
Thanks in advance!
Scott
