Priya,

Thank you for responding. I have tried both static and automatic settings on
the client connection setup. I am sure how to affect the server side IP. I
think that is always dynamic right? As I said, at one point I was able to
connect from home to work and that gave both the client and server and valid
private Ip. I do not recall if they were on the same subnet, but I think so.
When I try a static IP, I have tried one outside the dhcp range of the
server, both on the same subnet and not.
I was really feeling like this was a router issue, but I am able to telnet
to port 1723. I cannot ping it though. What a mess and I am completely stuck
at this point.
