I read somewhere that you can not only retrieve the Computer and/or BIOS serrial from WMI, but you could also update it via WMI.
Likewise, I seem to remember that there are other fields within the
Win32_BIOS or Win32_ComputerSystem classes that can be customized for other
information that you may deem important.
