We are proud to announce the Call for Entries in the 1st Annual Glendale
Glitter and Glows Silver Screen Festival


This event is a short film and video festival celebrating 1.4 million
twinkling lights and wonderful activities that take place once a year in
downtown Glendale and the Historic Catlin Court District.

- press release template for you to announce your triumph!


Finest judges to our competition including EMMY and TELLY Award
recipients and other leaders in the media.



This event is sponsored by The Glendale Daily Planet, Achieve Radio and ever
growing list of Downtown and Catlin Court Merchants.


Your film or video can be originated in any format you care to use, however,
judging copy must be uploaded to the Internet for screening in one of the
many common formats. Final Screening copies should be a DVD or VHS tape. It
is your responsibility to provide any format conversion to satisfy the entry
requirements.


Judges families participation and other possible conflict of interest areas
will not be allowed.


Holiday crafts, choruses, Santa, food and horse-drawn carriage rides are
planned between the hours of 6-10 p.m. Bring the family and friends to
stroll and shop in Historic Downtown Glendale. Every Friday and Saturday in
December before the Christmas holiday.



The holiday light display, which attracted more than a quarter of a million
people last season, will run six weeks. The festivities will kick of the
evening of November 24, and continue the 25th. The holiday fun continues
for Glendale Glitters Enchanted Evenings, Friday and Saturday evenings, Dec.
1-23, with entertainment and horse-drawn carriage rides from 6-10 p.m. each
night.



Admission and parking are free. While you and your crew are gathering
footage the family members can enjoy the unique shops and one-of-a-kind
boutiques in Historic Downtown And Catlin Court Historic District. These
buildings brimming with countless treasures and culinary delights offer
extended hours for the opening weekend. .


The glittering magic of Glendale's holiday display remains lit nightly
through Jan. 6, from 5-10 p.m.


The holiday season concludes on Jan. 6 with the awesome Glitter & Glow Block
Party, this year with football-related attractions just in time for college's
national football championship game to be played in Glendale. Highlights
will include pep rallies, cheer squads, mascots and marching bands, and
downtown streets will also be filled with glowing hot air balloons, street
performers and a variety of the region's top rock, jazz, reggae and blues
bands.





Teams and individuals will compete over the 6 week span to make a short film
or video that fits one of the entry categories. We don't believe in
restrictions that will limit your creativity, only in guidelines that will
help jump-start your film and serve as motivation to create the best film
possible!




We believe that everyone wins when ambitious and creative people work
together! Actors, actresses, crew, directors, producers, musicians and
soundtrack composers are given the opportunity to work with each other,
learn, network, and create something they can be proud of.

Comedy amongst the glitter - 3 to 20 minutes

Public Service - A 3 to 20 minute Documentary about Fire and Police
personnel and how they serve at this event.

General Documentary Movie 3 - 20 minutes.

A category may have multiple winners, or may have none if minimum standards
are not met.
