you could try booting in safe mode and removeing the nvidia drivers reboot
in safe mode again and install different nvidia drivers,

you never know, it might work.

*Using other video cards, both agp and pci. It seems that whenever
any other video card is installed the computer won't even load the
bios. The fans start whirring and that's as far as the boot process
goes. I tried turning hardware acceleration off and taking out the
BIOS battery for 15min but that still didn't get the PCI graphics
card to work.

There are no onboard graphics so I can't try to update the drivers
with this graphics card disconnected. Also, I have no rescue disk to
try and reinstall any drivers.

Is there a way I'd be able to use the recovery console? I know I can
get into that but I just don't know how to use it.
