I have done a little of this but not with your VAIO computer, so I don't know what capture inputs and software you have. My computer has a Pinnacle Studio 9 capture card and software. Basically you need to connect the output of your VCR to the input your computer using an Svideo cable or the analog cables(set of 3), whichever your VCR and computer have. So your computer should have either an Svideo input or analog input. You start the capture software, put the tape in the VCR and let it run until the video from the tape is captured. Your software will take care of the capture process, allow you to edit if you want to do any and burning to a blank DVD. At least that's how it has worked for me anyway.

I am new to all this .. have VAIO Digital Studio Computer Media Center. I want to put all my VHS tapes onto DVDs. How do I get the tapes copied to my hard drive so I can put them on DVDs.
I've read the instructions but somehow they don't seem to register on how to do this .. please help.
