Re: Endless loop on boot

Tech-Archive recommends: Speed Up your PC by fixing your registry

Go in the BIOS and set the SATA drive to IDE mode and try it again. If Windows boots install the SATA and motherboard drivers then return the SATA option back to where they were in the BIOS and see if things improve. Most often when changing the motherboard a repair install is required. Also, you can tap the F8 key when the computer boots and change the Automatically Restart on System failure option, this will cause Windows to halt on the BSOD and you may be able to get useful information in the bugcheck error message.

I finished building a replacement PC as the mobo on the other was slowly dying. I took the same SATA drive from the old system and installed it in the new system. In both, obviously, the SATA drive was the boot / C: drive.

When I start up the new box, BIOS sees the SATA drive fine. When Windows starts, the splash screen shows, disappears, and some BSOD error screen flashes by and the pc reboots.

I didn't change any of the default BIOS settings. What next? I really don't feel like reinstalling 80+ GB of apps to fix the problem.
