In edition to Tim's post;
If you have the upgrade cd you need the earlier edition cd in order to clean
install. You do not have to install the early edition, you just need it to
point to when the winxp upgrade cd complains.
So if you havent got an early edition, go out & buy one
I have windows xp on my c drive and want to put in on the new f drive. I
only have windows xp upgrade and upgraded from millenium that was on this
system. I have no os full version only recovery disks that will not work.
Any
suggestions besides going to buy a new os. I have 5 computers and none

Re: Full version of XP professional ... The important part is the preparation for the upgrade.... I also highly recommend prepping as if doing a clean install.... deletes the Windows folder before creating a brand new "clean" Windows ... (microsoft.public.windowsxp.setup_deployment)

The computer is generally a mess, not because of XP Pro but it had all kinds of adware, viruses, etc, prior to the upgrade.... (microsoft.public.windowsxp.general)
