Re: installing os to 2nd hard drive

The problem looks pretty obvious - the entry in the boot.ini files
at C:\boot.ini and at G:\boot.ini (the latter I assume to be the clone
of C: in the new HD) points to partition 2 instead of partition 1.
Just change "partition(2)" in boot.ini to "partition(1)" in the G:
partition's boot.ini file using Notepad. Later, if things work out,
you can change it in what is now the C: partition as well.

If you have managed to boot the clone while the "parent" OS
was still connected, re-do the cloning. There may be very subtle
shortcuts set up during the 1st booting of the clone that point to
the identical file in the "parent", and you won't know it until you
take away the "parent" and then try to access the version of the
file which you thought was in the clone. When the cloning is done,
disconnect the old HD and restart the PC, and the clone should
start up. Then jumper the new HD as Master, the old HD as Slave,
and restart. The new HD's single partition should come up as C:,
and the old HD's 2 partitions will probably be seen as D: and G:.
You'll be able to drag 'n drop files and folders between C: and D:
to your heart's content.
