Disregard my earlier response. I sent you the wrong reply.
You are correct, you cannot disable Simple File Sharing in XP
Home Edition. You can however start an XP HE system in Safe
Mode, log in as an administrator to get access to the Security
tab.
Good luck

hi everyone,
i recently updraded my xp home to professional.
I had some strange ntfs access problems and i thought with
xp prof. i would get the dialog for permissions on files
and folders, but it isn`t there.
So now i can`t change the ntfs permissions on a folder
which is neccesary (i can`t access these folder with local
adminstrator permissions).
What can i do to get the tab for ntfs permission?
regards
Go to Control Panel and double click Folder Options.
Click on the View tab.
Scroll down to the bottom of the Advanced Settings box and
remove the check mark from the box next to "Use Simple File
Sharing (recommended)".
You should now see the Security tab in the folder's
Properties ***.
Good luck
