OEM software is licensed to the origonal sys. It dies with that sys.
If you purchase a retail copy of Office it is yours to
install/uninstall/reinstall etc wherever, and you can, broadly, install it
on a desktop and laptop for your sole use.
If you by Office preinstalled from Dell it lives and dies with that dell PC
ELUA is the licence agreement

I purchased it online and it was sent to me. I'm not sure what OEM means.an
It was not on the computer when I bought it. I added it later using the
discs I ordered. Not sure what EULA is? Would the answer be the same for
Windows Office Professional. I'd like to buy my new Dell laptop without
office productivity software and just load MS Office Professional myself
after I receive my new computer. Thanks for your advice.

I purchased XP Home and have the discs and product key. I am now
buying a new computer and discarding my old. Will I be able to
load the same discs on my new computer or will this not be allowed
since they've already been used on another computer. What do I
need to do to make this work? thanks
Technically speaking - no matter what - it will work.
Following the strict guidelines of the EULA - it may/may not be the case
that you can transfer your license.
Did you purchase a retail or OEM Windows XP?
