Re: Setup crashes before drive selection

Stop code 7B indicates a boot device failure. This boot device could
include one of the following components: a disk drive, an Integrated Drive
Electronics (IDE) controller, a primary IDE channel, a secondary IDE
channel, a PCI bus, or another boot device.

Make sure all these devices are enabled in the BIOS.

I have recently built a new computer with an asus P5WD2 Premium
motherboard.
I have installed 2 512mb ram chips that are ddr2 800 (ddr2 is native on
this
board).

I have attemtped using both an SP1 XP pro disk, and an SP2 xp pro disk,
and
I get the same results.

I press a key as directed to begin booting setup from the cd. Setup
loads
its necessary files, the last thing being NTFS, and then it says 'setup
is
starting windows'.
At this time, the screen goes blank for about 3 seconds, and a blue
screen
comes up with a stop message:

*** STOP: 0x0000007B (0xf7c7a524, 0xc0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

I am uncertain what to do at this point because I am completely unable
to
even begin an install, let alone complete one.
