Try using msnews.microsoft.com instead. It doesn't matter who your ISP
is.

Wull <wmailey@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> hunted and pecked:
I know I am not in the right news group but I am hoping someone has an
idea that might help me.
On Wednesday I changed from cable internet to AT&T Yahoo DSL. I am using
Win XP and I had participated in the XP new user group. Many of those
people knew about almost anything.
Anyhow all seems to be working fine except for downloading the news groups
from 'news.houston.sbcglobal.net'. Today I found the MSN news list and
downloaded immediately.
AT&T says it is a Yahoo problem. I cannot get any help from Yahoo.
Do you think there is a problem with news.houston.sbcglobal.net ?
I may have made a mistake changing but DSL is #0/month cheaper than Cable.
Any help will surely be appreciated.
TIA
Wull
