XP Home SP2 setup unable to read CD

I will try to make this as short as possible. I just built my first computer
with brand new components and now I am stuck trying to install XP Home w/SP2.
The CD ROM is set to read first and begins to install XP, I hit F6 when
prompted and successfully installed the drivers required for my SATA hard
drive. After that, it continues to install for a short time then says startup
is starting Windows. I press F8 to agree with the terms. Then I am told to
press enter when CD is in drive. I do that, botom of screen mentions loading
DOSENET file or something. Finally it comes to where I keep getting stuck. It
keeps saying setup could not read the CD or the CD is not a valid Windows CD.
This is a brand new XP CD bought a few days ago. Being a noob at building
comps, I made a few mistakes. I set my PSU at 230V instead of the 115V. The
other mistake was connecting both the SATA and legacy ATA power cable to the
drive at the same time. I read it MAY result in damage to the drive. Now
everything is set correctly and seems to be running fine. I hope I included
enough info, I just need help to get past the unable to read CD hang-up.
Please help me.
