I have Windows XP Home edition installed on a computer and I have Windows 2002 XP Pro Upgrade w/Service Pack 2 CD. I have been trying to install it and during the installation I get the following message: Installation Failed: E:/I386/asms. Error message: The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error. Fatal error: One of the components that windows needs to continue set up could not be installed. The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error. Then it goes to a black screen and does nothing. I've started it twice. Does anyone know what could be causing this or what might be the solution for this?
Thanks
