Re: Lost my modem during setup

I erronously listed the PC as a PII; It is actually a PIII 550Mhz. It
actually worked fine if a bit slow until I decided to "fix" the sound card
problem. Previous to that I had a fully functioning working modem and system.
Replacing the modem and drivers with another modem and driver resulted in the
same results. All components are Windows HCL compliant and use windows
drivers obtained via windows update. All components are shown to be working
properly in system properties yet when the modem is accessed the system seems
to think a second non existant modem is in use. Any alternative to starting
from scratch and reloading Windows would be appreciated.
