XP64 has been released to manufacturing. It will be available as an OEM
product only IE with new systems or eligible purchases, so check out all PCI
cards etc. for drivers as some have found their favourite card is not going
to be supported.
939pin Winchester core is the way to go PR3500+ is the sweet spot at the
moment. Dual core CPU's will be available some time this year so will make
for a brilliant upgrade path. It has been stated that all that is needed for
a current 939 pin mobo to support a dual core CPU will be a BIOS update.
A related issue - if you may go down that path, PSU wattage requirements
need checking, and room for a better CPU cooler. I suggest you hike on over
to say www.anandtech.com or www.tomshardware.com or use google to get some
early info so that you have a large enough case and a powerful enough PSU...
Regards & Best of "Luck".
