Assuming the OS didn't get reinstalled after the loss of the processor, you
are still running the SMP kernel and HAL, though with only a single
processor. So add the processor and it will continue as it was, but using
both.
If you had to reinstall the OS after the loss, it probably loaded an single
processor Kernel and HAL. So you will need to update them.
Go to device manager / Computer. It should say something like ACPI
Multiprocessor PC. If it doesn't then change the Kernel and HAL.
