If you are talking about one hard drive with two partitions, then the second one with XP Home is probably gone. If you used Partition Magic,
and allowed the XP Pro install to delete a partition then all references to the Home partition are probably lost.
If you cannot see the data on the XP Home second partition, from within XP Professional...it is most likely gone.
A utility called Disk Probe could be used to recreate the second partition entries in the Master Boot Record, and you may get you data
back. It is pretty cryptic stuff though.
