Follow up related question. I'm in a similar situation. I
had a qualified Win 98 system, but after a few failures,
opted to wipe the disk, format it and try installing XP
Home Edition. After the DOS portion, it reboots and hangs.
The bottom line reads, "Setup is starting windows". I
thought I did not have compatibility issues (400 Mhz
Celeron, 384 Mb RAM, 8 Gb disk) on an MSI motherboard with
an updated bios. Can someone help?
