Hi,

First please disable any software which runs at startup like antivirus,
updates, etc. Then proceed to run Step 1 and then Step 2.

1. Run SFC /PURGECACHE (to clear the cache which could be corrupted)
2. Run SFC / SCANNOW
3. Reboot the system

Hope this helps ...... :)

--When I boot and run C:\SFC //SCANNOW I get the message there are some
non
--Windows files that compromise integrity....and I need to insert Windows
XP CD. When I do, program completes and takes me back to C:\. If I run it
again, runs to completion. If I then use other programs, log onto
internet, etc and try again, completes ok. But next time I boot and run
it, same old story. Need to use CD.

--I have run it to a good completion, turned off system restore, turn off
save page file at shutdown and then rebooted again. Run SFC and get same
message that I need to use CD. So my guess is there is something at
startup that is doing this. I run McAfee virus scan and their stinger
report at each update and often inbetween, have McAfee firewall and have
all requests for cookies prompted.

I have tried deleting them and reinstall from CD but still won't work.
