windows xp upgrade

Hello, I purchased windows xp upgrade, but was unaware
that only 1 computer could be upgraded, i have installed
the upgrade on my home computer, and my laptop. home
computer is fine, but my laptop keeps asking to activate
the windows xp, which i can't do cause it's only licensed
for 1 version. how do i get my laptop back to windows me,
keeps booting with the xp version...........help!
