It looks like it's a problem on the XP machine only. Something
with TCPIP is NOT working.
I get the following error when I try to activate Internet Connection
Firewall on the Advanced tab:
An error occurred while Internet Connection Sharing was being
enabled. The dependency service or group failed to start.
There are only three things installed for the adapter:
Microsoft Client
TCP/IP
Microsoft Printer and File Sharing
The TCP/IP is set up to grab all information from the local
DHCP server. And that's working fine, and HTTP works fine,
and 443 connections work fine. SMTP is working fine, POP3
is running fine.
Somewhere somehow there's a screw loose in this machine and
it's not a real screw. It's a Microsoft programatic screw. I'm not
willing to call it a bug, because I'm sure it's not crawling around,
because it's very specific to the FTP and to enabling the ICF.
I've turned NetBios on and off thinking that might have something
to do with it but that's incorrect. When NetBios is activated, there
are a ton of NetBIOS connections occuring between the XP
machine and the server. When NetBIOS over TCPIP is disabled,
there are still some small NetBIOS attempts to connect every
so often (one small burst once every two seconds about).
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I've been searching
throug the Microsoft website. I'm on link 20 of who knows how
many. Thanks in advance.

I can browse the Domain Controller without any problems, but I've had to set up this ability by creating a Computer on the DC. And while I'm at it, there's another problem with the Win2K DC as well. It has a computer listed that I can't seem to delete. The computer was a test system that was connected as a BDC per se. And this question does not deal with XP, but rather with a Win2K server. I just want to know how to remove the BDC computer from the list of computers there, because when I try to do it through the Active Directory for Computers and Users WMI, it errors out. I'm currently heading over to MS right now to see what I can find on the latter issue, but if someone happens to know, I've got a feeling it's a pretty typical problem, let me know.
