1. The error messages that referenced MSDART.DLL
were do to the fact that you had previously upgraded
to a newer version of Media Player prior to upgrading
to XP Pro and the XP Pro CD was trying to overwrite
that newer version with the older version that was on
the XP Pro CD. This probably just worked itself out
as the upgrade to XP Pro continued.

2. The reason you can no longer make a Dial-Up connection
and System Restore is not working is because you had
previously installed XP SP1 while in XP Home and somehow
managed to use an XP Pro CD that does not include SP1
(Must be a fairly old copy of XP Pro). This results in 2
extraneous keys being left in the Registry. You also removed
all of the XP critical updates that you had previously applied
which includes the patch that plugs the vulnerability that is
exploited by msblaster and the numerous variants of msblaster.
Use the following article to restore your Dial-Up connection
but DO NOT connect to the Internet until you are certain that
the XP Internet Connection Firewall is enabled on your Dial-Up
connection (or a third-party firewall is installed and functioning)
and then you will need to immediately go to the Windows Update
site and scan for updates and then install SP1A again and reboot
and go back to the Windows Update site and get all XP critical
updates installed (be sure to temporarily disable your AV before
installing any of the SP1A and critical updates).

3. Go back to the Windows Update site and get the latest
Media Player again (Remember to disable the AV).

4. Windows XP Pro is not listed in Add or Remove Programs
because there is NO uninstall available after upgrading from
    XP Home to Pro.
