I am having a slight problem on my 2003 AD Domain when
setting up new XP Workstations. On First Boot, usually
in the morning, they are not seeing the domain. They act
almost as if they are not connected to the network at all
and use cached credentials. This causes a problem where
the user cannot open outlook, see any mapped drives, or
browse the network. Once the log off and then back on,
they can see everything fine. This happens to three
different users who have been setup with a clean install
of XP Professional.

I see some events in the Application Log, 1053 and 1054
show up when this usually happens. The basically say
they cannot find or see the domain.

Any help would be appreciated, I have the primary DNS
setup as my PDC Emulator and use DHCP.

I have been wondering if this could be a problem with my
FQDN. it is structured like this:

location.companyname.com

I also have a website Domain registered to

companyname.com

Could this cause any problems????

Thx,

Steven L. Gear
